Default 09 wheels...

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. Purchased an 04 V a while back (love it!) and just recently found this forum. Been doing a little shopping around for aftermarket wheels and came up with a question one of you might be able to help me out with...does anyone know if the wheels on the 09 V fit the 04-07 models? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

No, it won't be a direct swap since the 04-07 V's are a 6-bolt pattern and the gen V2 are a 5 bolt.

I noticed the same thing and was going to message the person selling them about the error ... but didn't bother.

Cant you just swap over the 2009 CTS-V hubs to the 04-07 CTS-V? And make it an easy 5 lug conversion?

you'd need new brake rotors if you swapped the hubs. but i dont know anything about the brakes on the V2. those rotors may (probably) have a different offset.

but you could do some research on it. you may not find anything and actually have to measure some V2 rotors on your own.

oh, and the hubs may not even fit correctly...or fit at all. youd have to compare the two hubs as well.

i doubt its do-able without some machine work.

let us know though. i may be completely wrong.

Sounds like a bit more work than what it's worth. I think the wheels I was looking at are actually for an STS-V. Looks like they have the same bolt pattern but a higher offset...I wonder if they would still fit?...maybe with some spacers

Swapping to 5 lug wouldnt be that bad, you need the hubs and you can even redrill your rotors , or im sure you could find something if you realy looked.

I looked into it and it would be ~1,000 just to swap to 5lug.

Converting to a 5-lug set-up is a PITA. Look at widening the rear stockers to 9.25"-9.50", powdercoated them, or finish in black chrome and you will have the best damn wheels available for the V1. Also look at CCW and other companies with one-piece aftermarket wheels, and if you can sell your stockers for $800 the hit is less.

Not sure on the cost to widen, I think the following factors dictate the expense:

1) all quotes should be similar, the shipping will kill you, so find someone local, I would not pay more than $200.00 for each rim to widen
2) find someone who can widen and paint/finish
3) quality counts, as these are your rims, make sure whoever does it has a good reputation on the Forums

Good luck if you chose this route, as the stockers done in black or a dark finish are the ****!

The C6 is my DD, I need to keep it reliable. H/C is something I have considered, but if I go into the motor I would probably go built motor with lower compression and consider a TT kit. Right now I have about 550RWHP, good enough for a occasion 1-mile run.

Thanks, I owe a lot of my passion to the Forums, as I never was a car guy until about five years ago, and all I have learned has come from this site and the other Caddy one.

Vids and pics soon, just spent $1,000 on Sony A380 and lenses, and another $500 on a camcorder, so expect them in the near future. Of course I will need some hot babes for my photos and vids, so send 'em down!!!
