Hatch release
This may seem like an odd question, but when I hit my trunk release button under the dash, is my rear hatch suppose to "pop" open? Because mine doesnt. It seems to unlock it, but I still have to go back and pull the hatch up. You cant even tell its been popped. Is that normal? My DD's trunk pops open by about 4 inches when I hit the trunk release, and one of my old cars the whole hatch would lift as soon as you hit that button.
I'm just asking because it seems kinda pointless, and I'm trying to take as much weight outta the car as possible before next race season, so if all the hatch release button does is unlock the trunk, I'm going to delete it and just use my key to save a couple lbs.
Thanks!
Amanda

I did search, and all I found were topics on how to replace the hatch release, and how to make it pop open better. No info on what it is suppose to do bone stock. Thanks though.

When I replaced my supports the last time, the hatch would open all the way by itself in the summer and would then press its way open very very slowly in the winter.
