I cant catch a break...
Im cleaning the coolant out of my head bolt holes so I can put on my 317s. I was using the paper towel technique on ls1howto because compressed air wasnt working for me. Heres the deal, I pull out the paper towel and chunk of it is stuck in the hole. I tried getting it with a screwdriver and even chop sticks and I cant get the ******* thing. Its soaking wet so it makes it that much harder.
I think Im going to light this thing on fire and just collect the insurance money on it.

Im thinking of fire but its in the head bolt hole so theres not much oxygen lol. Im thinking of bending the tip of a flat head so its like a hook or something. The water isnt a bad idea but Im not sure how well paper towel dissolves.

Just take a few minutes and step away from the car and come back later, trust me we have all had this major frustration with our cars at one point or another. Next time do it the easy way and take a shop vac to the water pump holes and suck the coolant out of the heads that way. It works like a charm and the heads come off without a drop

I do dumb stuff all the time, take carb cleaner, use the plastic straw and get it all the way under the paper towel and down to the bottom of the bolt hole when you spray it the force against the bottom of the hole will push the paper towel and and float it out.

or go to a weld shop and see if theyll give you a TiG rod, a small diameter one preferably stainless, then bend a good small hook on the end. the MiG filler wire .035 or bigger works good too
