Apparently since no good Camaro should go un-tuned, here's the SMS 620, the latest from some guy named Steve Saleen. It's packing a built 6.2-liter V8 wearing an SMS292 supercharger and good for 575 hp and 600 ft-lb of torque.

The red side vents on the hood are functional. They're butterfly valves routed to the supercharger's intake. They only open under hard accleration. Saleen developed a similar additional intake on his first SMS Mustang prototype.

I'm ok with the vents as long as they're functional as said above. I wish they were a different color besides red though. Stand out to much.

I got to talk to Steve Saleen at the detroit auto show a bit. they brought out a couple challengers and an S7. evidently, they were supposed to bring their mustang out but they didnt want to "one up" ford with the new 5.0. he also said that we can expect to see the sms camaro in the flesh sometime in the spring or summer. the only mention they had of the camaro was this sign:

you are correct that there were Saleen Mustangs out front...but that isnt the company that steve saleen is associated with now. Those Mustangs are made by Saleen Performance Vehicles...the company making the Camaro is SMS Supercars.

That's all saleen ever does. Put on a ricer body kit, ugly wheels and stickers; then if you really want to pay too much, a supercharger. Put your own supercharger on if you want to go fast. The other stuff is :barf:

It's nice, but it's sure to be way over priced.

GM gave him the molds from the concept and 2 GTO's. He just re-bodied the GTO's, he didn't actually "build" anything. I'm sure he didn't do it for free either.

Steve does not work for Saleen anymore, he left before they even announced the Camaro. Steve now runs SMS...and has nothing to do with Saleen.

The video does make me hate the guy though, as a business man and making up the BS lies is just low....but he was at a Ford event so he had to make himself look good.
