G5X1 dyno results - stock heads
Ok, took my car to LS1 Speed to get dyno tuned yesterday with the new G5X1 cam. Car put down 391rwhp and 380 rwtq. This was through the mods in my sig. This is through 295/35/18 rear tires, NO pulley, and I dropped the Hooker muffler. Car still had a full belt, air filter, etc etc...

I'm really happy with the torque. This thing will pull pretty hard from 2grand and up. I was also supprised to see a big cam like this only peaked at between 6 and 6.4 hundred rpm.
Maybe with a pulley and a few other things I would've hit the magical 400 mark. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Oh well, i'm happy.
EDIT: for my initial impressions of the cam, driveability, etc go here: https://ls1tech.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...c;f=1;t=010877

Re: G5X1 dyno results - stock heads
Overal gain with the ported TB, LS6 intake, and cam was 70rwhp and about 40rwtq. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
I would imagine that the 12bolt w/ 4.10s would show a 15-18 rwhp loss over a 10bolt w/ 3.42s. However, the actual parasitic loss through the 12bolt is probably only 8-10rwhp.
Call LG Motorsports for the price. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Awesome numbers, Alex. I still can't believe the driveability of your car, and the massive low end torque. Sounds like you made the right decision going with the LG cam over the "other" one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
It's been a blast working on your car, now lets get rid of this snow and hit the 1320 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Numbers look good Alex!
I like the Torque....Above 350 from 3100 to 5800. I knew this cam was a "Torque Monster" like most LG Motorsports cams.
It would be nice to put one in a 342 stock rearend car with the other bolt on's and crack 410rwhp cam only!
How do other cars dyno on the dyno that you were at? What does a typical head and cam car put out? Any comparisons with other packages that have dynoed on that dyno?
Great numbers though. Louis said that we should get you down here to Dallas to tune it in house. It is only a 13 hr drive <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
Free tuning if you make it here!
Thanks again for having faith in LGM.

Are the spec's on this cam still hush hush?
If not. What are they? <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Great #s. Now let's someone put them in a 3.42 car, and shut everybody up! Lou, I'll make the drive, if you want to give me one! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: G5X1 dyno results - stock heads
Thanks Lou!
That was the first time I'd dynoed at LS1 Speed, so not sure how the numbers compare to others. I just may take you up on that tuning someday. Maybe when my car gets the spray. <img border="0" alt="[evil]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_devil.gif" />
We'll see if we can get a few more horses outa my car next week. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Alex I know where you could get a 3.42 rear end to see what the #s might be <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ....
or maybe I just need to put that cam in <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
