Default Anyone making 550HP on a stock bottom 346ci???

Car is an 01 Z with heads, cam, etc.... Makes 450hp to the rear and was just tuned about 2 months ago. Ordered up my new plate kit and thinking of a nice 100hp shot but dont want to scatter the bottom end. Car might see spray 4-5 times a year. This is not for the street but instead the track and dyno. I obviously will have it tuned for the bottom I just want to watch my limits. I have read in the past that either 500hp or 600hp is about the limit but dont remember which rule of thumb it was. HAHA

You should be fine spraying that size shot. One thing that you will need to take into consideration though is that if you haven't upgraded the fuel pump you will need to do so in order to properly run the kit.

That a boy. I think the Lingenfelter heads I have and cam should be fine it was the crank, rods, etc... that concerned me. Like I said it will not always be spraying. This is a full show car and 75% the reason another bottle is in the car.

They do have a good pump but it would be better if you can at least put a Hotwire kit on there or a Kenne Belle Boost-A-Pump so that away you know you are covered for fueling.

I think theres quite a few people making that on stock bottom ends a good set of rod bolts are nice security though once you start spraying.

I have 48's and they should be fine. I will look at the duty cycles when I am tuning and see if a KB is needed. Thanks guys

Your injectors will stay the same with nitrous if you use a wet kit (it supplies it's own fuel) but id upgrade pump like you mentioned with hotwire kit.

Changing out a fuel pump is alot of work on 01Z isn't it ?

I have a 03Z and my fuel pumps are located inside the tanks

Or are you talking about putting the Kenne Belle Boost-A-Pump In-line ?

Bon

The fuel pumps on 97-02 and early 03's are stupidly easy to change. All he will hafe to do is remove the left rear tire and the heat sheild covering the fuel tank and he will have access to the pump. On late 03's and 04's they moved the pump to the top of the tank reqiuring you to remove the tank from the car to get to the fuel pump.
