Default rpm drop in 2nd gear

ok so if i put my gxp in tap shift and in second gear give it half to 3/4 throttle at about 3700rpm it wil drop back to 3500rpm with steady throttle but it doesnt do it at WOT. doesnt effect drivability or anything just seein if its normal?

It's probably just the torque coverter "flashing" at the lower throttle setting.

Can't be the TCC, since it doesn't engage in second gear unless you are in "hot" mode.

Im seeing the same thing happening. My RPM's will drop with steady throttle in 2nd gear, anywhere between 2000 and 3700 RPM's. Noticed that this started after the car shut itself off one day on the highway. I cant tell if its normal or if my Throttle Position Sensor is tweaked.

i see mine everytime im half throttle at 3700, but normal driving conditions i shift at like 3000 or so, so i only see it when im accelerating kindsa fast, im guessing its normal cuz it happens everytime at the same rpm.?

Well I guess we will find out in the long run... I dont think that just because it happens everytime at the same RPM means its normal, but it definitley makes it easier to keep an eye on.

Like I said... I never noticed it happening prior to my car just shutting itself off, so I dont know if its a sensor issue? TPS, MAF or even some ECM or BCM related issue. I scanned for codes and nothing popped up though, so who knows.
