Default cut out issue

I have an electric DMH cutout and it rattles in between about 1000-1800 RPM. Its only when its opening so I'm thinking its the flap. Any idea how to fix this? Its really irritating

Thats bummer. I have a DMH cutout and ive been thinking about getting rid of it.

Did you try contacting DMH to see if they would do anything?

I called and left a message today. I'll continue to call until they resolve it. I like DMH because they are reasonably priced and their cutout opens really quick. Plus I like the switch they provide better than QTP.

When I had mine, I put some RTV on it and that calmed it down, but didnt get rid of it completely.

mine doesnt rattle at all. maby im just lucky tho. but did you try opening it and going under the car to see if anything on the cutout is loose? because maby when the cutout is open the extra vibration is just making something else rattle.

Sorry for the silly question but does it rattle when open and closed or just open?

Thanks I'll give that a shot but I'm pretty sure it's not the cut out against the pipe, I think it's the bufferfly flap.

Yeah, I put that high temp rtv on the hinge points of the butterfly valve and it calmed it. I couldn't tell really with that 244/248 cam blowing in my face though. lol.

Yeah I love the sound of my cut-out..plus the electric ones are very convenient and cool. People that don't know what they are, are astounded when they see what the little button does.
