If you have a manual valve body the only thing you should need would be rev limiter.

if you get a full manual valve body you should get a B&M ratchet shifter or something similar, makes sure you get locked in all the gears.

That's exactly what I'm doing right now. Vacuum modulated 4L60E with a manual valve body, trans brake, B&M Pro Ratchet shifter, Raptor shift light and Harlan 2 step.

Yupe,

That's what I'm shooting for, the only thing I want the PCM to do tranny wise is act as the rev limiter. The vacuum modulator will provide the line pressure for the tranny, the manual valve body will allow me to do the shifting with the ratchet shifter which will keep me from going into neutral or reverse gear. With the trans brake I can launch at the stall of my converter(3800RPM) and the 2 step will allow me to launch on the bottle. I think I've got all the bases covered. Oh and I also took the lock up clutch out of the converter.
