What to do to not blow up 10 bolt
I am going to the 1/8th mile in about a month. I will be running on my mickey thompson et streets. The car is completely bolted on A4 with gears. I am hoping to be launching around 1500-2000 rpms. Is there a good chance I'll destroy the rear end or severely damage it? If so do I need to get a support cover like a TA Rear End Support Cover?

I think youll be ok. I've seen people running autos faster then your car with the stock 10 bolt holding up. One question why et streets and not the et drag radials for an auto car?

I see. I just haven't seen many autos with et streets mickey thompson says the et streets are for standard cars and the radials are for autos. But i also see tons of 6-speed guys running the radials, either way their both good tires

how do you plan on launching at 1500-2000rpm? do you have a converter?
with my auto i can only brake until about 1200 and then the tires start spinning. if you have 2.73's you might be able to get a little higher, but please don't neutral drop it haha.
you'll be fine at your power level in an auto. i ran drag radials for about a month with the same power. i did several full throttle launches per day. no issues. autos don't destroy rears like m6's do.

You can buy a performance rear diff cover that will let to adjust preload into the carrier, but there's no promices that something else won't break.
I've run MT drag radials for two years on my car.
First year was stock (3200 stall and lid, but I could only stall to 1200ish before the front brakes won't hold the car back anymore) and lastyear I did cam, headers and ported heads... I can stall to 1500-1700 now, but the front brakes which are aftermarket still won't hold past that.
I haven't busted my diff, but I do change gear oil every 10,000kms or so (6k miles) just to keep it healthy.
Problem is that the pinion will push its way forward after a while and fluid seeps around the front of the diff. After a while gear while will become pressent and its time for a rebuild.
I do 85% DD from April to October (parking when the snow flies) and race one weekend a month durring the summer making 12-16 passes each weekend (aprox 77-100 passes a year) while racking up 6-8k km's durring that time.
Sooner or later the diff WILL die.
I'm just lucky at this point and I've started keeping my eyes open for a used aftermarket unit.
There are a few 8.8 diff builds that looked interesting if you're on a tight budget like mysefl...

you have 340 rwhp??? if so i think too many ppl worry. i make 430rwhp with a 150 shot and after my buddy convinced me to beat it up i did...like 5k clutch dumps on nt555r's and ya know what???? just expect the worse and hope for the best. i beat the **** oudda mine..5k drops.. and is is still sewing machine quiet? just throw 50-100 bucks from each check into a piggybank and once you save up enough, buy a good rear and if you didnt break the ten bolt you can sell that and make a little bit more
I wouldnt worry bro

There's no telling when that 10 bolt is going to go. Mine finally took a dump last track outing launching on 150shot coming on @3800 rpm. And I maintained that 10 bolt with a T/A cover, changing fluids once a year since the car was new. It can't handle to many hard launches and sticky tires. Good Luck.

i even had a nasty race with a goat days before.
then out of nowhere, i started to get awhine for 50 miles and then BOOM on the highway she locked the rears solid.
the flatbed had to bounce me off the trailer....even at full 45 degree angle, she woulnt roll off
p.s. this was at 98k miles with the last 30k of it at 400hp
