Maybe some break clean to spray away the metal shaving junk that is left behind.

You're gonna need a tube of Posi-additive.

Is this required for my rear end or something that recommended? Is this the additive that the dealer sells for about 10 dollars?

Thanks, Trying to save some money, Dealer wanted 12 dollars for just the additive. Picked up 2 qts of the valvoline gear oil for 12 bucks with the LSD additive already in it. and going to rtn the mobil 1.

did the 01 have clutchs or a torsen? with the torsen you shouldn't need the additive? I was thinking ( of course that never works out) that all 99 and newer had torsen. Never to old to learn something.

I really dont know what the car has in it. Diff is going to be open for the 1st time. I read 30-40 post of diff on LS1 but some say that the 99 and newer have the torsen and Then I was reading that the WS6 And SS modles have auburn units in them. I just want to make sure I have everything I need nefore I start working on it.

If the Vavoline has LSD addivate already in it, I figured I would be covered either way. and Its alot cheaper than the Mobil 1

My 01 TA has a Torsen. No additive needed.
