Doin two at the same time...
Gauge clusters... whatd you think I was talking about
Swapped the gauge bezels out of the Z06 cluster to the vert cluster... also installed my C6Z06 shifter w/ new shift boot and new HU w/ XM integrated. Final pics were taken after getting back from dinner, the flash doesnt do any of it justice. A few bits of brushed aluminum in the right places really spruces up the C5 interior.
Clusters apart...
Part getting swapped
Bezels installed on the red cars cluster
Done
Thanks to my buddy Jay for helping out w/ the stereo install and soldering

Nice pics showing the changes
Personally, the Zo6 cluster is a *must* in any C5 I own... if I ever had to start over and got a non-Zo6 I'd still have to swap in the cluster. It would be the 1st mod I would do.
I never liked the base cluster, it must be the Italized lettering and the checkerboard pattern on that Z helps..not to mention a more robust redline that anyone would have with better valvesprings/tuning/MORE.

Why would you want a cluster that says "Z06" right on it in a non-Z06 car? Sure if you could get it w/ the standard emblems it'd be a nice upgrade, but otherwise it's poser satus IMO.

I was thinking about this more last night... (lots to think about when you're slaving away sanding a cylinder head getting ready to polish)
I decided that I wouldn't like the Zo6 logo on a non-Zo6 car, but I would have to have the gauges, so what I would do is....
Get a decal made that I could overlay on the Zo6 part. Yes I know that part wouldn't light up at night, but having an oval "sticker" with a matching color format but with a special tie-in to my car (perhaps something about supercharged or ???) it would look at home during the day... and I know what that black oval at night stood for.

Actually the C5 gauges are front lit with special black lights on each side of the cluster. The only things backlight are the warning lights etc. So your idea would work just fine.
