What's your 60fts
Not sure where to post this but im trying to figure out what i should do.
I have a TH400, 3.42 gears and a Fuddle 4000rpm stall, car weighs about 3400lbs with me in it. H/C making 405rwhp unlocked.
1.73 60ft giving it all its got, 2 people watching both sides confirming no tire spin.
Converter holding me back or gears? Everyonce in a while i come accross full weight guys with SS4000 converters and 3.23's pulling 1.5x 60fts and im wondering whats up with my car.

Sounds like you need more converter. I have one of those full weight cars with the SS4000 and with a 100 shot pulled a 1.46 this past weekend with a little tire spin off the line. I have full suspesion spohn adj LCA, Spohn adj panhard bar, UMI LCA relocation brakets, UMI TA tunnell mount,UMI drag bar, stock shocks and springs.

I had a fuddle converter, It was a 2800 for my 4l60e.. Best 60' was a 1.67' with 3.73 gears 224 cam and ls6 heads making 373 hp.
Problem with fuddle now is that they switched owners and for a few months there the customer support was nothing. I talked to the owner, He said they were running a special on free re-stalls, I shipped it off, and all of a sudden did not hear back for could not contact the company. I tried e-mails, phnoe, etc. Turns out fuddle doesn't even make the converter...its howards converters in Utah that makes them under the fuddle name...After a month of not being able to get ahold of them I ordered up a vigilante 3600, my next 60' was a 1.590

I think all these comments convinced me to get a new converter. I think ill call yank and match up my combo. But I was personally thinking of getting a non lockup SS4000 since im not sure if i want to spray later on yet.

Getting a non-lockup wont help you any spray or no spray. The converter should never see the lockup function making a pass/WOT anyway. Do not overlook Circle D converters. I have many years into my car and multiple Yank converters wich performed well. Switched to a Circle D and have never looked back. This converter I have hits like bricks (See sig pic) I would'nt trade it for anything the best converter I have had in my car to date.
Edit: I did not see you are running a TH400 (dont have lockup anyway), I watched the vid that converter is FLAT.

H/C/TH400/3.42/Fuddle 3600 stall. >> Netted me a 11.81 with a 1.63 60ft NA.
I would def. say its the converter, after talking to people and calculating my slippage swapping for a better converter is my next project. It seems alot of people have problems with these stalls.
