Default so i just swaped out my cam and need help!!

ok so last night i took out the old cam and put in my ms3 cam put now im stuck... how am i suppose to time the cam? on ls1 how to is says to line up the cam dowel to the to the dot on the crank and them aligh the cam gear or something like that can someone plz explain to me in a more simpler way how to do this plz any help would really be aprricated thannx

It is supposed to be dot to dot with the cam gear on it. Just make sure you have it at TDC when you do. If I remember right the dowel should be at the 3oclock position with the sprocket bolted on it. Just make sure it is lined up well because the MS3 is a biggin. The sprocket of course only goes on one way.

Yeah when #1 is at TDC the dot on the crank gear should be facing up in the 12 o'clock position. At that point, you can install the cam with the dowel at 3 o'clock which should have the dot on the upper chain gear facing down at 6 o'clock. This should have it installed properly using the dot-to-dot method. Make sure they are dot-to-dot and not a tooth off. I would recommend degreeing the cam but if you don't have the tools for it, this should get you fixed up. Be sure to roll the motor over by hand prior to firing the motor to ensure there isn't any PTV issues and that there isn't any binding. Let me know if you have any other questions!

take your time and make sure you check everthing twice. the best part is when you turn the key and hear it run.....that feeling you'll get!!!!! I cant explain it. you will soon know what I'm talking about

it is going great!!!!!!!!!!! lol man 4th gear drifts at irwindale man that cam has top i love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think i paid like 8 something for the whole cam package
