Default Rolled The Dice and Whew!

I just bought a '99 Z28 last week. The car had been sittin' for 2-3 years without running. The guy was a little sketchy on what was wrong with it and my Spider senses were telling me to watchout. He told me he just quit driving it when gas hit $4 bucks a gallon but Something seemed a little wierd about that. He also said he thought it needed an alternator or a starter along with a new battery. The battery was deader than Kelsey's nuts so I put a jump box on it and just got "click click click...." So I put some cables on it for a few minutes And the jump box. She turned over, no start though. I listened for the fuel pump and nothin'. Shot some strting fluid in the corner of the lid ( not up in there ) and she tried to start (actually did for a nano-second). So, I rolled the dice and bought the car. $3 grand cash. 96,000 mile 6 speed car, perfect leather, t-tops, one flat Goodyear RS-A, and won't stay runnin'. And that's pretty much all the Original Owner dude could tell me about his "Baby". Well, I had it towed to my buddys shop and bought a Granatelli pump, drained the tank and we stuck it in there along with a fresh set of NGK TR55's, fresh oil and filter, a new battery, and 5 gallons of 93 octane. She started up and and smoked for a second and then purred like a kitten. Whew! Good oil pressure, no rod knocks no valve-train noise, and steady at 200 degrees. Everything looks and sounds good and I feel pretty darn lucky! Now I need to find some tires, check/change every fluid, and throw some new rotors and pads on there(the old ones look pretty nasty) and take her for a spin. So far I've just limped around the parking lot on the space saver spare(lame) and the clutch feels great, etc.. I'll post some pics when I take them this week.

Yep, Bone Stock. I figure I used up about all the Luck I'm allowed to have for at least few years. But just to balance things out I bought an Eagle stroker crank for another car of mine and it arrived all scratched up on one journal and the guy at CNC Speed ( or whatever the hell the company is called) pretty much said tuff luck Buddy. That and the County came by today to bitch about my herd of cars 'n trucks. Now that's more of the kinda luck I'm used to havin'.......

Allright, I completely suck at computer technical bullshit like putting pics on here. Apparently they're too big and my dumbass can't figure out how to resize them. Any help?

Photobucket rocks. when you get your account all set up just upload your pics to that site, and then copy the line that says something line [IMG] and paste it in the message on here and it will automatically pop up.

Good buy by the way.

I ordered a set of cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads the other day (all four corners for $169 delivered to the house) and they should be here Friday. Any suggestions on decent (cheap) tires? Lookin at the Riken Raptor 245/50/16. Michelin imports them so maybe they're not too bad. Sure are cheap! W speed rated too ( I think).

looks like ya got a little cleanin to do but doesn look too bad, welcome to the wonderful world of ls1's

look for z or y rated tires you will be happier with those

and move that spare tire to the front asap, swap the front tire for it you dont want a spare on a drive axle
