Default H/C + LM1 = louder than duals?

just wondering if running H/C with the LM1 was alot louder as running duals? i know with longtubes and LM1 it gets pretty damn loud. i could only imagine with adding a cam and heads though. I wanted something a bit louder than my magnaflow. ive thought about duals, but im wondering about running the Loudmouth 1 again?

You may want to look into GMMG or maybe Hooker Aerochamber CB. But the LM1 is loud but it is very raspy and has alot of drone to it, espeically if you don't have cats but to me it sounds like crap. Are you wanting to dump the duals or run them out the back? IMO just cause a car sounds loud and is loud doesn't mean that it sounds good.

well i run the magnaflow and its pretty quiet for me, not that its a bad thing. i wanted to switch to duals but dont want to worry bout ground clearance. i considered GMMG or even corsa. but i like how LM sounds at WOT!!!!!!!!

Im runnin headers, 3inch true duals with dumped bullets. Sounds mean as hell, idle isn't to loud but once you step into it, it really roars!

Well you may want to check this thread out this is a little project that I though of and it worked quite well:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...ew-videos.html

I think the LM sounds good at idle and at WOT and that's about it. I've had that before on stock manifolds and straight pipes (no cats). It sounded all good at first then it just got annoying. But also at cruising it sucked all the rasp and drone was awful and if you can hear that in the car imagine how it sounds to other people. But it's your world and do what you like or think that's the best. You have to live with it in the end. Honestly like me I was surprised that people didn't dog me cause I cut up and welded a $700 exhaust system although I pd. only $450 But in the end I can unbolt my CME tips, they are centered and I have true dual setup all in one.

i really wanted to ditch my magnaflow for a TSP 3" duals with sweet thunders!! i love the sound of it. i may just go ahead and run the GMMG. but still wouldnt mind running the LM. i had it on my old 00' Z28 and it sounded great with stock manifolds but was insane with just longtubes. i could only imagine how loud it will be with a cam and heads.

I used to have a LM1 on my H/C SS and it was LOUD! There wasn't a louder car in the entire city, except open headers. Put it this way, my 3" y-pipe rusted right at the merge and I was forced to take off the catback since it would have been dragging on the ground and the car was actually louder with the LM1 on it because it was a much higher pitch, but sounded better with the open y-pipe. Now I have a SLP Dual Dual and it is livable now!

Honestly I think anything sounds better than the LM1. I think the LM1 espeically with LT's and Off Road is just a magnet for cops and people who just want to be noticed. But some people just like to be loud azz hell but just cause you have the loudest exhaust don't mean it sounds the best. IMO the only thing the LM1 is good for is Idle and WOT but anything other than that sucks.

thanks Detoxx, yeah man i was really curious just to see how loud that would be compared to duals. just wondering if the loudness would be just as loud. I was pretty sure it might now sound as great, but i would probably have better ground clearance...

This is mostly true.I have H/C, ORY, LT's, LM1. It is VERY loud.

Does sound bad *** at idle and full throttle. I rarely drive it so I haven't got tired of it yet. I will prolly someday put some type of bullet muffler in place of the resonator.

Here's mine, and its loud, but my five year old rides in it so it cant be that bad. But if i drove it on a everyday basis I'd probably tame it down a little with cats.

If you are dead set on the loudmouth route, at least do yourself a favor and get the Loudmouth 2. It's nowhere near as loud, raspy and irritating as the lm1. Ask me how I know.
