Default Magnaflow and Slp LM

Is it just me or does magnaflow sound alot deeper than lm. I have magnaflow cat back on my ls1, and my buddy has loud mouth. At idle they sound alike but when he jumps on the throttle his sounds kind of raspy, where are my car sounds much deeper although not as loud. What do you think.

Magnaflow sounds good to me other than a little raspyness and the lm is just plain loud and raspy without a defined tone. If you want a nice deep tone without rasp go with the slp powerflo.

I would say its pretty loud I can hear it for a long time if someone else drives it.Makes the car sound more powerful than it is.Sounds like a monster of a car coming when its floored. My rasp is very minimal I would guess being stock. If I turned more rpms I would look at the Borlamouth set up I have heard about.Oh yea I heard one at a road course with the loudmouth, headers, and ory.Have to say it sounded like T total ****.It rasped pretty much through the whole rpm range.Sounded like a honda on steriods to me.I felt bad for his instructor.

Agreed. It sounds stock at idle but it gets mean fast. I really love it and cant wait to add LT's.

LT's (especially ORY) will change the exhaust sound tremendously. My LM1 was super awesome stock, but LT's and ORY made it awful, a 3600stall converter made it unbearable. I went with a magnaflow bullet and I just ordered a magnaflow catback. I'll tell you how I like it when I install it in a few days.

I never though I would be one of these old men on here that complain about their car being too loud....but it was. Do a classy exhaust with a cutout, you'll be happy you did.

LM1 is a great exhaust, flows really well. The LM2 muffler is a good choice to quiet it down without spending a fortune.

Even the lm2 sounds bad. I like my exhaust loud at times too but not all the time so thats why I went with the powerflo and a cutout.

I have full exhaust ORY and its deffinitely loud enough to get in trouble, so why would one call it quiet? It can get loud, but not til over 2k RPM

I've had:

LT's, ORY, Magnaflow
LT's, ORY, LM2
and LT's, ORY, Borlamouth

My favorite out of the 3 is definitely the Borlamouth. It's still kinda raspy, but NOTHING like the LM systems. It gives it that cleaner Borla sound with the loudness of a LM2 system. My LM2 was REAL deep under 2 grand, then after 2 grand til about 3,500 it was just straight rasp then it hit about 4 and it was SCREAMING! Magnaflow was clean and deep all through the powerband. I never had ANY rasp with it. Really quiet at idle though. The Borlamouth is deep until 2 grand, starts to get a little rasp until about 3 grand then at full throttle is screams like the LM2.

I have LT's, ORY, LM1 with a cam. It's definitly loud and i can be heard quite easily haha. I love loud cars, i'm actually changing to headers with a bullet a little off collector dumped so should stay just as loud. My friends back home have LT's, ORY, and magnaflow catback, sounds awesome. They also have cutouts so can be REAL nice but when closed still sounds pretty mean.

Ok, so I have a lm1 and was going to get rid of it and get a magnaflow as I was putting on lts. Well now the lts are on with a carted y and it's nowhere near as bad as anyone on this board made it out to be. In fact it sounds bad ***.

I give it a few months before you make a thread about how to quiet it down or how you hate the rasp
