LS1 oil pressure sending unit (sensor) (99-02) = 12562267

Some parts stores also have the socket needed to remove it

Got my sending unit from autozone. For the socket if you have a 1-1/16" deep socket laying around that might work. Or you can buy an oil pressure sending unit socket for gm vehicles, I got mine from NAPA.

lol, i did the very same thing today....swapping my LS1 for a LS6 intake....broke the sending unit...i went to Autozone and they had to order one because they didn't have one in stock. Bought the Sending Unit socket while i was there too. All it is is a 1- 1/16th deepwell socket...nothing special.

How are you liking that LS6 intake any differences?

I don't mean to hijack your thread but, I think mine may be messed up. Can you replace these with the intake still on?

From what I can tell with the intake out right now it is possible to do with the intake still in it but would be a big PITA and take LOTS of patience. I would suggest taking the intake partially out as in leaving the fuel rails attached and just sliding the intake forward a bit to get at sending unit better....should be pretty easy to get at from the passenger side with the intake moved forward. But if you left it in I would think the best way to get at it would be from the driver's side. but like I said it would be PITA that way.

I just did this today and it's a LOT easier than the hastle of taking the whole intake off. I just reached back there, disconnected the wires, Slid the socket back and dropped it into place, slid an extention back there on top of the socket, then wrench on top.
it was actually pretty easy.
