Default Would a mail-order tune be enough with this setup?

Just installed pp s2 ls6 style heads and a tsp 231/237 cam. Would a mail order tune be enough for this setup? I have my old ed wright tune from my old 222/224 cam and it runs ok but idle is a little off and it bucks at low rpm operation and sometimes hesitates. Thanks for any help.

Yes, as long as you provide the tuner as much info as possible about its parameters. Like LTFTs, O2's, Ignition, Any SES etc...hell, I could send you my edit file, same cam, and you could copy the basics over and have a "mail order" tune.

Although I hear EW locks the PCMs he tunes?

I don't have anyway to monitor what the car is doing as i don't have atap or any scanning device. I know i should but i am a idiot when it comes to all the tuning stuff. But i guess i need to learn it. What kind of device could i get that is fairly cheap to tell me what the car is doing?

GO to a local GM dealer and ask one of them to scan your car. They can send you your file via e-mail to you. It'll be a huge file, but thats what I did.

We offer Mail order Tuning for LS1 and LT1 Edit. Although our tuner has been in the business for years, we are not able to unlock Ed Wright's tuning as he lock's every computer he tunes.

Thank You,

Call Jason at TSP. I've seen a few cars on the board that have had good luck with his mail order tune.

Seek the master himself - Obi Won NoGo

In all seriousness .......NoGo is the Tuner at East Side Performance. He is on the board frequently and he is Top Notch. You won't have to worry about a lack of communication i.e. unanswered Emails etc.

East Side Performance offers mail Tunes here: East Side Tuning
