Default BRP oil pickup tube girdle?

Just wondering who is using this product? Is the stock set-up really that bad that we should use this thing for peace of mind?

TIA
Mike

But is it really necessary? Has anyone had their oil system fail due to the stock design? Or is this simply a "peace of mind" kind of modification?

I put one on for the piece of mind and insurance, I looked at it like "why cut corners when I have $3500+ going into a rotating assy for a $.03 O-ring to take it out or make me spend an afternoon to take it apart to fix it"..... Also, when I was looking at the design, why would GM put (2) points to secure the pick-up tube and then use only (1) bolt? When I read up on the o-ring failure or the pick up not sitting "square" and then leaking........ To easy to install for that little "piece of mind" esp being that there is no mod to the pump for the clamp and it was only $20, kind of a no-brainer to me. Once I finally got it, it is a nice piece- wasnt to thrilled with the turnaround on it when I ordered mine........ took almost a month to get

I don't think I'd feel comfortable doing business with them after seeing this E-Bay auction. Check the price, then the shipping on a part that weighs 1 ounce! What an embarrassment!

Well on what blk96496 said I decided to just stop bitching and buy the thing. That link must have a typo because I just bought it about an hour ago and total to my door was $31...$6 in shipping wtf? I would not go anywhere near calling myself a fabricator so I just bought the damn thing and for $30 even though the BRP website says its only $20. If these things are so easy to fab, why hasn't anyone else stepped into the market charging a more "worthy" price?

I used one in my build for peace of mind...but the reason there are 2 bolt holes in the pump is because different pick-up tubes mount differently...Some use one side some use the other....

I kinda figured it had to do w/different "style" pickups- Again, it all came down to the insurance and "piece of mind" thing for me. At least I know for sure that the pickup is seated squarely and wont/cant move

RetroLSx is suspposed to be coming out with their own version. Hopefully it will be ready when his 2nd f-body mount kit is ready.
