Polished LS6 Cylinder Head Pictures
The Zo6 is getting upgraded like the Firehawk was.
Crappy i-Phone pics in a dark garage.. but better than nothing!
I started with a lump of metal with 68k miles of carbon to remove. Mild cleanup/smoothing in the exhaust ports and smooth the combustion chambers.
It's still only rough polished. Final polishing will happen next weekend.
Grab your shades!
It's going to go on this... (timing cover, cam and billit pulley not done yet, plus everything else.) Lots more work to do..
Here's a thread that shows the materials and steps used to sand & polish metal.

About 5k miles ago the front torque tube bearing failed and destroyed the factory clutch.
At the time I needed to fix the 2nd gear synchro (it was starting to act up)
I bought a Luk Pro Gold (stock Ls6) and aluminum flywheel. I decided to divert funds towards rebuilding the trans.
I may not get far with this clutch, but I'll deal with it when it breaks.

Yeah, well I intend it to be a clean street car and the tires will be a buffer. The last ls6 clutch did fine on the Hawk and it was orginal with 53k miles when I sold the car! The hydraulics were getting weak though.

I'm not a sponsor and I'm not selling a service, but I can say that I spent roughly 30 hours on the one head... you do the math on what it would cost.
Professional shops can do the work in less time because they have better equipment. They would usually charge about $250-350 per head.

Are you going to relocate your coil packs?.....If so I was just thinking, you could grind/sand ..... off the nipples(the packs bolt to) and polish and make the valve cover look all smooth. Pleas let me know if you thought of this or if it will work....I think I want to try this.

You can't shave the nipples off the valve covers. There's a hole at the base of each one. You'd need to find an aluminum welder to fill the holes, sand them flush, and polish again. That's not something I'm going to do.
I'm going to eventually get aftermarket billet covers, but the stockers will work for now.
