Default 96 WS6 Upgraded to 02 WS6 Ebony Leather

I am in the process of doing a full custom interior on my SOM WS6 so I put the interior out of that car in our white 96 WS6. The interior in it before was nice but gray cloth...so the ebony leather was a huge improvement. I also upgraded the door panels with the original leather inserts from the 02, and to make the ebony and gray mesh a little better I put ebony speaker covers in it. It gave it a real subtle "camel" feel. We plan to get white birds on the headrest soon too.

I wish I had some "before" pics but I would have to hunt them...and I am too lazy.

Notice I got the SOM embroidered headrests swapped!

And a little white birdie on the cluster:

And my buddy that really was such a HUGE help to us through the entire swap:

I always preferred the Leather in the LT1 cars. I have a 96 WS6 with black leather, and i used to have a 94. I also had a 99, and the LT1 leather is just softer and smells good, its real leather it seems. I know you didnt have leather before, so its a great upgrade for you!

Looks great, much better. I have a soft spot for white LT1 t/a's, got me in the hobby in the first place.

Has the passenger door/rocker been painted before?

No, shes owned the car since 98 when it had 6000 miles on it (and we know the original owner.) Why? (I swear I have looked at the pics over and over and I cant see anything that would make you think it has...)

Funny thing is I can remember a white 96 WS6 on the show room floor of the local Pontiac dealership when the Ram Air cars first came out and how BAD I wanted it but I was still in school and couldnt afoard it. It was one of the prettiest cars I have ever seen!

Sorry, not trying to pick the car apart, just a lil OCD.

In this pic the rubber accordion style protector for the wires between the door and the body looks like it has over spray on it.

Where in this pic (opposite side of the car) it is black

you're not looking at the same thing in those 2 pictures. on the passenger side door, that is a spring/coil, and that is supposed to be body colored (white).

the thing on the passenger side is the wire protector like you said though, and that is black.

Kind of what I was thinking too, honestly I can BARELY see the passenger door jamb there.

To the OP, the difference is subtle but very much an improvement
