Default Car has cataracts - WTF?

1999 camaro. ....both front headlight lenses are starting to haze over. The formerly clear plastic lenzes are reacting to sunlight or other external factors that seem to make this headlight problem a bad one.

Is there a product or trick to ridding the lenses of this issue?

I've tried a bit of polishing compound but it does not seem to work. ...GM strikes again!

No good fix that I've ever seen. Some folks say you can polish them out, but I've never seen an end product was as clear as they were prior fogging.

U.V. is what does it.

I just posted up my results on clearing up my headlights. Check under my posts for the post up. The thread is in the appearance and detailing section in one of the stickies at the top. I posted in the thread with my procedure and product that I used. If your lights are still like they are in your signature picture then I would skip the sanding that I did and follow the directions.

I wet sanded mine with 2000 grit paper and then polished them with plastic polish and they look like new again...nothing to it took about a hour to get both of them looking like new...

Buff them with an orbital using some micro-abrasive stuff. Toothpaste will actually work too, but they sell stuff made specifically for this...Can't remember the actual name of it right now, hangovers suck...

But yeah, it's quite common, and quite easy to fix. Orbital, toothpaste and 5 minutes. That's really all you need...

I used a regular buffer not a orbital. The wet sanding took the most time. The buffing part only took about 5 minutes per side.

I used a product that removes oyxidation on acrillic lenses.

It worked reasonably well. I will apply another coat before I consider any abrasives.
