Default Big gains with FAST 102MM over LS6 on a 408?

Can anyone estimate the type of gains a 408 stroker motor would see going from a LS6 intake/stock TB to a fast 102/102 setup?

It really depends on the heads and cam combo on the motor. What MAF and lid setup are you running? Out of the box I would expect in the neighborhood 15 from the intake over an LS6 on a fairly aggressive combo...

Like Jon said it depends on the heads and cam you have/ are going to have. With a 408 the 102 could help alot. The LS6 might not have enough flow for it so going to a Fast could wake it up a little.

Default Maf ?

I'd ditch the MAF and go Speed Density. Put a straight 4" tube in it's place with 2 4" hose couplers. That would also help with cost as you would not have to buy another MAF.

That's what I did and no restrictions on the air intake prior to the 102 TB.

I went from a ported LS7 intake to a Ported FAST 102/102 and gained 23rwhp. Same day, same dyno comparison.

What heads/cam/cubic inches are you using? Who ported the LS7 intake and who ported the 102? Who tuned your car?

I could be wrong, but with the original poster being in Mass. wouldn't the temperature swings reduce the effectiveness of a speed density tune? Either that or he has to have several tunes on standby to load with changing seasons?

Jon
Im not to up to date on the fast 102 gains, saw alot of numbers comparing it to a ls1 Intake mani and they seemed decent, but vs the ls6 intake if it gains only 15 then the H.P. per dollar doesnt seem worth it.

I dont think you would see as many gains as you would like for the amount of money that setup costs which is my opinion.

IMO you would get better bang for the buck outta a used FAST 90 or 92 and a 90mm TB. Spend the extra cash on more go fast parts.
