My V just got keyed and the paint shop today said we could split an aftermarket hood and i want one with a dome and vents. Is that 775 shipped? if so you might only have to find 2 more...

I noticed that! I guess you wouldn't want people to actually know the cost of your finished product. I wouldn't mind a cowled hood but we have all seen these group buys on hoods fail time and time again. $1500 for a purely visual mod is a bit much. Our stock hoods are already extremely light. I was really looking forward to the cowl group buy on the other website but we couldn't get enough people together and that was for $675 for a carbon fiber cowl hood. If they would match that price I would still be interested... but not in a heavier fiberglass hood. If you can find a vendor with carbon fiber that would be a worthwhile visual and performance mod!

Dead on, or right around there. I paid about that, I think the hood was $700+, the shipping was $125+, the prep work, paint and fitting was $600+.
I believe I was the second owner of the EC Cowl Hood, LASSTSS was the first and got the vendor interested in our cars; LASSTSS also made the billet pieces for our interior and also made the V t-shirts. My hood was purchased over three years ago and I had issues regarding the fitment, today it is not perfect, I have tried shims and other methods but it still rises about 1/8" vs. the top of the front quarters---I am sure someone could make it perfect, I just accept it, as no one notices. I will not bash EC, as they were the first to step up and the first offerings always have issues, regardless of the complexity of the product. Not sure about the $700 price when compared to others, but it seems fair given the low production numbers. I have only heard good things about their product since my purchase, I have no problem being the guinea pig, and am happy with the product.
BTW, I will also post my experiences, if anyone has a problem with it PM me. I think everyone on here deserves as much feedback as possible before they spend their hard-earned money.

The EC hood (with vents) looks nothing like the Specter Heat Extractor, which is a shame. It sucks that the best looking and most functional hood available for our cars has to cost a goddamn arm and a leg.
