Angry ~~ Cant get Torx off of A/C pulley! ~~

WTH is the trick to this? Ive broken two impact grade torx. Grinded off the broken tips and still broke them! Do I have to replace the whole braket because some dambass at GM decided to use a damn torx instead of a bolt?

That thing is tight as hell. I had to heat up the aluminum boss that it's screwed into (I think it's the compressor bracket) in order to get it out.

Make sure you crack it loose with a quick jerk. If you ease it, the torx will strip or break.

We thought of the same but our torch wont fit in there. How did you get yours?

I tried to jerk it too. I just lifted myself of the floor and then broke it when trying the other way...

Its deff not reverse thread right?

Why in the world did they use this thing?

My torch has a 45 angle and I fished it in while it was lit from the bottom.

It's not a left thread...

A regular bolt in there the would interfere with the main drive belt.
