Default 61 tooth 5th gear?

Does anyone have a link or a part number for a 5th drive gear with 61 teeth? It came out of an 05 -08 vette T56, and my supplier is having trouble locating it(also having a problem with being pleasant, but that's another story.

Here's a thread for reference:

If it's definitely from a vette, then it would almost certainly have to be a Z51 (MZ6) optioned unit. Since it's a GM-only unit, you most likely have to get it from a GM dealer. If it's from an '08, then it's not a T56, but a T6060.

Does the T6060 look like the T56 Case?

Yes, very similar in looks, but nothing really interchanges. The most notable change in the vette unit is the integrated front fluid pump (T6060) vs the bolt-on pump (T56).

Well then I know its the T56 because there is not even any ports on the midplate for a line. I'll call around and see if I can get any info on where to get the gear I need.

Im tempted to just stay out of 5th gear. Also, will a F body main shaft work on these gears?

Honestly that gear would probably be ok to reuse if you have to. If you have the time and money, I would go ahead and replace it just to have a little piece of mind.

Is this trans out of your Vette? The midplate shows where the front mounted fluid pump would bolt to. Another easy way to tell if you have a pump or not is to look at the front of the cluster shaft, it should have a "slot" cut into the front where it drives the pump.

Not out of my vette. Know the guy who pulled it though, and he knows what a vette looks like.
