Default LSx thermostat housings?

Hey guys, i have an '86 RX7 with an LS1 and Granny Speed swap kit.
I'm going to be turbocharging the setup in the near future and the turbo will be placed on the passenger side above the water pump heater hose outlets and thermostat housing.
Have any of you LSx conversion owners come across a thermostat housing that routes the radiator hose down at 6 o'clock instead of the OE position of 9 o'clock?
Or does anyone know of any LSx motors that have the OE thermostat housings clocked in a different position that will work on an LS1?

Everyone I've seen is 9 o clock. Though a skilled welder could weld a tab to it and make it clockable. If need be

They all point in the same direction. There are some straight necks sold but they all use the old-school SBC thermostats. A plate or freezeplug has to be put in the bypass port to use those and you loose the rapid warm up feature of the stock LSX t-stat. To make things even more difficult I've found that there are two sizes of t-stat housings along with 2 sizes of t-stats and I haven't been able to figure out what the cut-off is. My theory is that its a truck/car engine difference but I have been unable to confirm.

Thanks for the info.
Do you have any links to those straight necks you mentioned?

It doesn't say it uses the old t-stats but it does. I've never held one in my hand but I'm told they even come with a freeze plug to pound into the bypass port.

Note though that in addition to the two different bolt patterns I've found I've also found 3 or 4 different bypass port diameters. I do not see how they can sell that as a "universal fit." because of this. Report back and let me know how it fits if you buy it.

Here's a link to CSR's product page: http://www.csr-performance.com/shop/...-1.5-inch-hose

There they tell you it uses the older SBC t-stat.

They seem to know the break between the 2 bolt patterns. They list 97 - '03 and then 04/08, but that leaves out '05 - '07. For my own reference doe anyone know those?

CSR is strait, but you could have a 90 threaded or welded to it.
S&P makes a swivel.
I've got a stainless Synister housing that's angled, swivels to any direction, and uses an LS2 thermostat. Mine points to the 6 o clock and angles out about 15 degrees.
