4L60E is correct. Do you have a stock engine? Do you have a high stall or stock? If you are stock the trany holds up well so I have heard, just change your fluid yearly.

I have a high stall and many mods. My A-4 went out with 53K. How many miles do you have?

It started slipping after it got hot. I changed my fluid very often but I do have 450HP. I have a FLT transmission now. Works great.

You should be good for a long time with only 30K.

What are some symptoms of 4L60E tranny slipping? What was yours doing when you noticed it slipping?

It actually goes out when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. The 1/2 gears run on bands and a clutch. The 3/4 run on another band. When the clutch shifts from the 1/2 to the 3/4 it engages different bands. The more power becomes harder on the 3/4 and I know many people who have burnt those up. I managed to do it twice in a 3 month span.

Now I have an FLT stg 6 I'm putting in the car right now and should eliminate that problem of not shifting.
