Is a 1.62 about right for now?
Just curious, I recently swapped my M6 over to a Th400 with TB and wanted to know if my current best of a 1.62 is about right for a 3450 car? (previously the car made 392/362 with the stock 10bolt,6sp,410s, thru cats) Now the car is 9inch, TH400, no cats, 4600 stall, no new dyno numbers.
History:
Previous best was a 1.63 with the 6sp launching about 6k in 40-50 weather, DA was in the low 500s.
New best is 1.62 on the TB leaving around 45-4600 in 80-90 weather and humid, like 2k DA.
All things being equal weather wise I feel high 1.5s would be attainable, what do you think? Is high 1.5s good for my setup and on a 150 shot about where should I be?
Andy

Running MT ET Drags 26x10x15. I mean I don't know what else to do in order to make the car 60ft except add power (which the N20 kit is in the works). I really want to get it right on motor first though so I can get all that i can out of the current combo. Any suggestions?
For comparison sake - I have another f-body that runs at my track that I compare my car to quite often. Almost everything is the same with the exception of, he has heads (gave him like 38 rwhp), fast intake, injectors, bigger maf, bigger TB and his best na 60ft is like a 1.54 on a 28 inch slick, and a low 1.4 on 125 shot. The main reason I bring this up is to compare similar cars at the same track. We don't get the air you Northern guys do down here, maybe once or twice a year we will see a Neg DA.

I wouldn't consider our DA to be terrible by any means but I the last few times I have been to the track DA has been 2100-2300 and I weigh more (3710lbs raceweight) and run a 26" tire, smaller converter, and I cut low 1.5s off the footbrake. I also run 3.23 gears what are you running?

Currently running 410s.
I see that you have a Ls2 with ETP 5.3 heads correct? So more cubes means more power and better heads means more power, so not the most apples to apples comparison I wouldn't think. You probably have me covered be at least 50 rwhp and a good amount of torque. I do however appreciate your comments and additions to this thread.
What suggestions do you have to improve? Maybe the gears are hurting me? Too short of a tire? Not really sure which direction to go at this point. I try to build my car for the next mod instead of my current setup. I know I don't have to have all the suspension work i do but when i'm spraying a 200 hit off the TB and "Hopefully" running some good 10s I want to be prepared.
Seems to me that more power will fix my problem, I just wander what guys in my same HP ballpark are cutting in the 60 with similar weight.

Let me throw in a little twist. I recently ordered my 50-200 wet kit. I plan on spraying 150 off the TB, what type short times should I be at? I'm thinking mid to high 1.4s, sound about right?

You could be like me and cut 1.8 60fts.... dead hookin so hard it would stall a carb car. Anyways, what was your converter built for? If its built for nitrous, your short time isnt bad at all, and on the juice it will get really hateful.

I would have to say something is not right, somewere your setup is not working together properly. you should be around mid 1.5X N/A and I am comparing you times to other cars I have seen heavy around 3600 race weight and cut low 1.5X N/A in a lil better da but thats why Im saying you should be mid 1.5X allowing for diff. in the air.

I truly believe that it's a combination of DA and low power levels. I have a few good members helping setup my suspension but the only way to really tell where I'm at in comparison is to post up and ask.
So things to possibly change???
1. Taller tire
2. LCAs are in the lowest hole, have three choices with the relocation bracekts
3. Pinion angle is at 0 or -1, hard to tell with my needle style gauge, was chasing a bad vibration so I wen to this setting
4. Shocks- Front Comp 4 Front Ext 2 Rear Comp 4 Rear Ext 4
Thanks,
Andy
