Default Witch Lsx for a 96 impala SS

I have a 96 impala ss with a few mods. I want it to run 11s n/a and still be capable of daily driven also. the car weighs between 4200-4350. I want to know what ls engine should I go with to get close or reach my goal

thanks in advance,

if more information is needed about the car let me know.

I think you mean "which" LSx engine to get rather than WITCH!

I'd get an LQ4 or LQ9 but it all depends on your budget TBH.

sorry about that touch screen typo lol

thats what i was thinking an lq4 or lq9 but what mods would i have to do to them to get either engine to put out enuff power for 11s?

I want to get the best bang for the buck with about a 3-4 k budget

SS's are extremely heavy. You should go with Forged ls2 or ls6 And twin turbo it. whats your price range?

Well look who it is...All you had to do was ask man lol. You could be damn close, if not break into the 11s with a properly built stroker (408-ish), slicks/DR's, and the supporting drivetrain mods. Focus on building the rest of the car first i.e. gears, trans, etc, to support the engine.

Lol thanks Q I asked on the google groups waiting on you to respond.
What I was going to do is get a cahall lvl 3 and a 3600 yank but will the lt style trans and converter adapt to an LSx engine?

Yea, it will. I'd just try to make sure its a 96 due to the PWM in later trans'. Check my LS Swap thread on the forum about the trans. You'll just need the appropriate spacer and the bolts.

Can't remember...Is the '94-'96 Impala SS rear-end, the "corporate" 10-bolt rear? Anyone know what size disc's it had & what the wheel surface-to-wheel surface measurement is? Thanks

Yup, good old 8.5" 10 bolt under there. Width is 1598mm, from backing plate to backing plate IIRC.

Hell no it isn't. It'll nickel and dime you to death. Like I told you man, just build the rest of the car right now, and then get your engine.

Its going slow. I need to finish the backhalf and cage. My ls1 is a 383 12.5 compression cnc heads and an ms4 cam. It should make around 500rwhp and u can always shoot a 300shot in it.
