After running a stang last night my rear end started to make this bad clucking sound.

It sounds rebuildable but sometimes you can get a used one for cheaper so it's up to you. Does sound like it's done for, no hard launches on it for now.

Sounds similar to mine, when I pulled the cover 4 teeth were missing of the 4.10 ring gear.

Good luck

Sounds like something is busted in there. Chipped teeth I would guess. Could always pull the cover off and take a look.

At least it didn't blow up completely and leave you stranded.

Chipped/missing teeth as has been posted is probably what you'll find. Bob

i would say look for a cheap replacement just to keep her on the road and save for a 9 inch..

But to answer your question, that rear is on its last leg..
