LS1 swap or buy an LS1 Car?
alright guys so some of you may have seen and responded to my post about putting an LQ9 or LS1/T56 in my 97 Z28, now im thinking of doing an LQ9/LS1/T56 swap but buying an LS1 car as well since im starting to love the 98-02 style more then my old 97 style even tho i love both style.
so what do you guys think i should do? do an LS1/t56 swap and get a LS1 car in a few months or put my stock LT1 back in and buy a t56 trans for it and then buy an LS1 in a few months?
for those who are gonna ask "why do that" etc
i purchased my 97 as a rolling chassis and sold off my old 97 Z28 that was a totaled, but kept the motor and trans, i would re use my trans but its an Auto and my new 97 is a t56 car
and some back ground I DID own a 2001 Trans Am M6 and i miss my LS1 alot (traded it to my bro for my 06 Cobalt SS/SC due to needing a trade in but his Cobalt SS/SC (now mine) was down having a new motor put in it) hense why i am wanting to do a LS1 swap or buy another LS1 car
and one said night that hurt my heart she broke valve springs on start up a small thing compared to everything she had been through
and my own subtle touch that made her mine
its sad to say that my T/A was one of my favorite cars, my Camaro SS/RS fills it but not completely i would like a car to have fun with and i dont think destroying a collector car (my 30th Anniversary Z28 1 of only 3500 or so cars)
god i miss my T/A
YES i own a 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS, a 2006 Cobalt SS/SC and a 1997 30th Anniversary Z28, but i feel like i have a void in my carlot and my heart not having an LS1 SS Camaro
something just feels missing

i say for the money to just buy a 98-02 ls car. unless you have the absolute know how on the swap and can wheel n deal the conversion parts its truly not worth messing with a lt car. unless you do everything correctly that swap car will have all kinds of kinks and quirks that youll quickly get sick of.

Yea i know how you feel. Back when i swapped mine i did it in a way where nothing was hacked up or rigged. The way i did it i planned on it being simple to put all the lt1 stuff back in. Been considering swapping everything back to stock lt1 and selling it.

i own a m6 00 ss.
but have a better time driving ls swap vehicles. i would prefer a ls swap lt body car. im biased to swaps though. since i manufacture parts for ls swaps. right now im workin on tt for ls swap 3rd gens.
alredy got single hotparts on my car.but want tt.
just the other day when i was welding some parts i was thinkin of building a single kit based around stock kmember with adapters for ls swap in lt body. with the accesory parts i make.
