Default 04 gto A4 belt slipp during 1st-2nd shift??

I am a new gto owner and when i first bought my gto it was bone stock and i had zero belt slip. Now i have added a hardcore cold air intake and now when i am under WOT my belt will slip when my car shifts from 1st -2nd how can i get rid of this problem as i feel i am loosing power and time during 1st - 2nd shifts??

Thx Eric

replace the belt, it may be stretched out to much. you can get a good one for like $25

are you sure that it is your belt slipping?? does it make a squeak in between shifts? bc it was happenign to me and it might be your tires making that noise..so i might not be your belt

OP,
Do you have and underdrive pulley?
If so, the belts will be different size VS stock.
Just an idea.
If you are lucky maybe you can read the part # off the existing belts on the car (provided they are the correct size.)

ya, belt slip won't lose any power as it is just turning the water pump, alternator etc. I'd be more worried about clutch pack slippage in the transmission. Pull your tranny dip stick and take a look at the fluid and smell it. If it's brownish instead of pink and smells burnt start driving less aggressively and start saving up . . .

sorry guys, i will give you all the best piece of advice ever. Either! Get a 4l80e or go th400. your choice, th400 would be cheaper, but loose OD.

im on my second 4l60e and WILL NOT be going this route again. Solid axle, th400 and single piece driveshaft FTW!
