Default New Dyno Numbers

Last year with the only mods being a CAI and a Predator Tuner I had my car on a dyno just to see what it was making. Apparently it was a very "High Reading: Dynojet since it made 386hp/386tq. I had posted the graph on here and basically everyone went nuts calling B.S. I will tel you with just those mods I ran 12.57 @ 110 mph so it does make good power (just not sure its making that much).

Anyhow--last month I installed JBA shortys/mids and took it to get a dyno tune done. Vector Motorsports uses a Mustang Dyno and pretty much exclusively tunes LS based cars. Baseline run it put down 320hp/308tq. Seemed low but I guess on a Mustang Dyno thats about normal.

When he was done with it--he had it up to 338hp/331tq. Now I know the true test will be on the track--just hoping to hear from other peoples experience on a Mustang Dyno. And hopefully this translates to a couple tenths quicker at the track too.

from what I've read, it's about what I'd expect.
...and everyone knows that Mustangs read "low".

like you said, the track is the test.

Maybe he had a really good DA. I trapped 115 in my cam only LS1 goat. So an LS2 is capable of these times with LT's. This seems really fast for a basically stock LS2. But the trap seems about right. Maybe the dude can just flat drive.

Well, I think calling someone out with 1 post is BS! And who's "the other guy's" timeslip that I would have gotten?
Anyway here's the dyno run from last summer with the stock exhaust and stock tune on a DynoJet along with the timeslip from my race. The air was very good that day--right around sea level DA. And no mine doesnt run 14's.

im not trying to be rude....or out of line...but have you even been to the track in your GTO? 12.5 is very feasable with his mods. Ive seen GTOs run 12.5s an 12.6s all day long with his mods. My next pass in my full weight GTO will be a 10s, and im bolt on and cam only with some DOPE. run your car before you try and bash someone else bro.

Your #s look correct compared to my GTO. Mustangs dyno really do hammer down your bragging hp tq #s. Most companies advertise always dyno jet # for that reason. Good job on your car.

I don't see any correction at all on the first dyno sheet, so maybe that is part of why it was so high. I say get her back to the track and see what she will do. I was running 12's with a cat-back, K&N HAI, and a Predator tune.

did u run that with Radals? or slicks? bc my 04 gto with CAI, daiblo tune ran 13.14 all day with street tires..so i will belive the time slip with slicks or radals..but then again idk bc i have seen my buddis 97 TA run 12.5s all day with MS3 cam, CAI, and hp tune..so i would run it again and see what u get....and the track isnt what matters....its the streets

Exactly--I run M/T ET Street Drag Radials.
And here are the newest times--ran last weekend with the exhaust and custom tune now.

DA was about 1000' at the time.

Im not sure about the 93 mph trap--it does seem a bit high--although everything else is right where it should be.

And yes Im from Canada--not sure why that makes a difference. I am just across the border from Detroit (yup I am south of Detroit) and ran it in the US so I wouldnt have to dodge igloos and polar bears.

Well if thats what you ran with just a CAI and tune good for you but I can tell you first hand your DA had to be in the Negative cause with a Postive DA you would never ever touch that kind of ET with those mods... Ive seen 06's with LT's and tunes running 12.7's with DR's so I can can bet money that you will only see that kind of time at your track and your track only... If thats the case a 12.7 LT's + Tune GTO near me at your track would pull 12.3's lol... FYI a Dynojet usually reads about 20-25whp more than a mustang dyno... So with your new Headers and tune your probably in the 363whp range which will totaly discard your 386whp CAI and Tune dyno numbers....

Man--you sure are making alot of assumptions.

I ran 12.57 last year with the stock exhaust with a -200 DA
This year I ran 12.47 with a 1000' DA with the exhaust done and a dyno tune.
It isnt that hard to understand. I would say the exhaust/tune did make a difference. Also, you cant just say a Mustang dyno is 25 RWHP lower--it is percentage based (more like 12% or so), which puts it around 385 rwhp.
