Default cc306 vs AI cam

Im going to soon be looking in to a cam swap and porting my heads and intake and a 100 shot. So should i go with the cc306 or an AI cam kit. It is weekend driven and very rarely driven during the week. Sees the tracks about once or twice a month. So let me hear some input ans suggestions.

If you're looking to do heads and cam like you said I'd go with the heads and cam from AI.

Do the heads and cam from AI. Forget about the 306.

well that depends on your goals. if u want a car that sounds great but gets its *** handed to it by guys with ai cams, go with the 306.

if u want a well performing car that suprises people with how easy it drives and how fast it is with a smaller cam, go with ai. my old motor has an ai 226/234. ran awsome

The 306 isn't even in the same league as AI grinds.

Talk with them and they will suggest a grind for you. For the stock bottom end, personally I would go with the 230/238.

That's what I did on my fresh, stock shortblock. Lopey idle and it bucks some below 2k (could be the tune tho) and is really strong above 2500 to however high you want to take it. It's a great combo, well worth the cubic dollars I spent on it.

im trapping 110 with a cam-only 226/234 build at a track thats known to be a heartbreaker. Managed 112 at another. My tune is also garbage (my first attempt at a tune) and it still drives really good considering that. plenty of available power throughout the range. if you want to see some vids, my SN on youtube is same as here. Very happy with it, wish i had heads!

Talk with AI and tell them your goals and about your setup, they will know best.

From a former CC306 owner, go with the AI.

As for how big, it depends on how fast you want to spin your stock bottom end. I'd say go with the 226/234, especially if you're adding on the spray.

If I had to do it again I'd go AI or LE!
