Default Rotating assy oopsie DOHH

Finally started cracking down on my baby motor build. I acquired a set of SRP 138093 .030 over pistons. Link They came out of a friends 383 LT1. I planned on using them in my 355 LT1 build. BUUT I noticed that the wrist pin is much closer to the top of the piston compared to a stock piston. And they are rated for a 6" rod not a 5.7". I plan on buying new rods and using the stock crank. Is there a rod that I could use that would still allow me to use these pistons and the stock crank? Or do I need to start over? Halp!

Thaks alot. I really appreciated it. Are there any pros or cons of running a set up like that? Or is it all negligible?

with rods that long i hope you are running a N/A motor because it would not be good if you plain on spray or a turbo/charger in the future.. just my 0.2c

Thats not cool. Was planning on it being a N2O motor. 200-300 shot. Anyone want some pistons?

Rod sounds really long because it is what is needed to run a 383 piston with a 350 stroke.

You think nobody ever ran a couple hundred HP worth of juice through a 6.0" rod 383???

Guys have done 150-175 with amazing reliability on stock shortblocks and a few gamblers have aimed higher, stock shortblocks have been known to survive 250-280 for a while if the owner knows their stuff.

Yeah the pistons came out of my friends 383. They have 6" rods attached but I know they wont work with a stock crank. Plus they are low hp rated eagles. I wanted to up the strength and acquire the correct rod. Looks like I will be selling the pistons and saving up for a AI rotating assy

I ran a 100 shot on a bone stock 160k mile motor for 60+ runs. 0-100/130MPH mostly. (even on the bottle it took more than 16secs to get there) Motor's still running like a champ at 190k. Just leaking all over

Thanks for all the help!

I see that CNC Motorsports is having a sale on scat rods. Curious if anyone else has any pros/cons on the idea of running a 6.125" rod on a heads/cam 200 shot 355?

BUMP
