Default Pellet value/resistor Q&A..Shbox?

ok i get an 880/881 reading on my multi tool ...selector is on 2000 @ ohms symbol .. on shoebox's site theres 2 readings in the 800's neather of which is 880 .so what resistor am i looking for @ radio shack?

Pellet Code 4
Nominal 887
Low 852
High 942

Yours is between the values of 852 and 942, the range of pellet code 4, and is almost exactly the preferred, or 'nominal' value of 887.

(Any resistor between 852 and 942 ohms, preferrably very close to 887. 900 ohm resistor is about as close as you'll get to it.)

Measure at 2k ohms setting. Mine measured 880 I think. Got 880 ohms worth of resistors. Remember to measure each resistor as they have a 5 percent tolerance.

so is it supposed to be spot on the money' to work properly? or in the ball park?....so to speak

It needs to be in the range the chart says. Post #3 explained it. It's not that hard to understand.
