Default TA gettin ready for Track....Need Advice in Parts dept

Im getting ready to take my car to the track next month for the first time since building my motor. I have some problems thought...

I never changed the Coolant lines all are dry rotted and i have 2 leaks

I have a melted plug wire

D/S Header gasket is leaking - Im goin to buy Copper Gaskets - i also am buying longer header bolts due to my LPP LT header flanges bein too wide the 3/4 in long barely catch... so im gettin 3/8-16 in. by 1" long

I found these plug wires - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MOR-72526/

And this Coolant line kit - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GTR-5006/

My question is are these parts worth it or not???

sorry i dont have any advice, just questions. Why go with blue spark plug wires and coolant lines on a red car? Why not black or red?
Ive heard better things about felpro gaskets than copper.

Go down to O'reillys and get a set of plug wires, $25 and they work very good. I had Taylor OTVC kit, it arced all over the place. No problems with the O'reillys. As for the gaskets, Fel-pro are some of the best imo. Had a set on my car for 3 years, daily driving, no problems at all. Just don't forget to re-snug your header bolts after a good heating and cooling cycle, or get some locking bolts, like stage-8. But why blue on red?

2nd Orielly's, you need the stuff regardless of the value of the parts. I would just get the inexpensive items, get the car running, and then you can replace at a later date with nicer parts.

I don't see why you wouldn't use OEM replacement coolant lines from the parts store.

Well my coolant lines are in they dont look too bad but my car is over heating now. I deleted my Heat the put a shorter hose in its place, i bled the system stays at about 215, then when i go to take off it climbs and climbs till its in the red, ill kill the engine and nothin but hot air pisses out the bleeder. I dont get it!!!! New coolant lines, new water pump, a 160 thermo, a over sized radiator, and working fans...

Try re-bleeding the system. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 bleeding sessions to get all of the air out.
