Default The ricer in me shines through

I got bored w/ my car and decided to paint my interior trim pieces silver. It was cool for oh about a day, and now I'm sick of it. I did the trim piece around the radio/ac controls, the 2 side vents trim, the 2 side window defrost vents, and the cubby next to the cigarette lighter.

I used 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint, and 2 coats of clear coat.

Should I just buy new pieces or try to strip all this **** off? And how much do these trim pieces go for at dealerships and junkyards?

Sorry dude, I know what you mean! I went through the same phase. It lasted about a day. I got my stuff on ebay, so check there first, and then check some salvage yards. You might be able to sell the stuff, assuming you did a fairly good job on it.

Here are some pics. You can see why it got old.

I think it would make the interior look alot better without being gaudy.

When I had my t/a I had carbon fiber in it, then when I got my formula, the interior looked to plain, so I painted it silver too. I tried not to overdue it as not to look too ricey. I painted the trim around the radio, cubey hole, and window switch plate/door handle plate. It was just enough to liven it up, but not too much in my opinion.

I'd like to try to paint them black, but can I paint over clear coat? Will it even hold?

I haven't installed them yet, but they look like this when lit up. I might blacken out that really bright part. I just have to see it in person first. I know that's kind of ugly, but they were only $40 so I figured I'd try 'em out.

I dont think that the interior is too bad, its not me, but it is a bit loud. I would just try to trim it with gray or black, make your interior a soft two-tone.

I would love to do them but I doubt they have them in the 200mph set up like GMS. Now if they did that I would be the first in line for them.
