Single cab 5.3 L with 243 heads?
i got a buddy with a truck that hes bolting out.
he just put on a UD pulley
and im helping him with the headers
and i just noticed his casting number is 243....
whats up with that? can some one explain?
he said he got the truck like that
and i think he said the truck is running 14's/high 13's at the track...
and he has the nice old truck intake manifold....
im a little confused =/

yes you can. but the 243 is a much harder to find since they didnt normally use them on the trucks. 799 and 243 are the same casting, except the 243's have the lighter sodium filled valves.

Its pretty simple the newer trucks got the TBSS intake aka nnbs intake, its a 90mm opening for cathedral port heads. Looks identical to the L92 intake but has a different port.
