Lake Conroe area people -->
For you guys that live in that area, what do you think about the following Subdivisions, Walden on Lake Conroe, April Sound and Cape Conroe? Looking for sub divisions on the Lake. I worked with a guy that lived in April Sound and he seemed to like it a lot but didn't mention much about the other neighborhoods there.

Ross,
Walden you can get brand new houses with 3 car garages for 160-180K depending on proximity to the lake. One of the houses I saw online was a 2 car garage but one of the stalls was 18' long for a boat. I'll have to look in to Point Aquarius also, I like the easy access to I45. From what Mukyluk told me, April Sound has a bit of crime, Walden's newer and has a police annex which is nice.

Everything you hear is right so far, Walden is a good place no doubt.
As for color hating, there are several Black and a couple Hispanic DPS officers, and Conroe is pretty damn diverse, it is where i went to high school and there was no real majority, but to be honest if i had to say there was, it was Hispanics, that was a reason i liked it, i started out in school being the only white kid, so when i moved to Conroe it was nice having a bit of everything.

Walden vs April Sound
Walden has alot nicer Golf Course. Walden is alot further away from 45. April Sound has a manned security gate 24hrs a day==Walden does not. Both are one way in and one way out. The both have older homes and newer home sections. Walden is typically more expensive but you are NOt living on the golf course or lake front for 180k. better dig alot deeper if that is what you want.

april sound security is a joke, at best. If there is any kind of disturbance they call the sheriffs office anyways. all they do is make it difficult for people to come visit you, and pull you over for going 3 over.

My parents are currently renting a condo in Walden for a few months, so I've been spending a lot of time there. Impressive community. Lots of amenities but you pay for it with monthly (I think) dues. I've seen A LOT of foreclosure looking houses in that area as well. Might want to keep your eyes peeled as they pop up on the market.
Seen a few hot rods in that community as well.
Seems there's a good amount of traffic on 105....I would think anything within close proximity to it will be noisy. Walden's pretty quiet at night.
Have you been on Conroe before? You need a decent sized boat to fully enjoy that lake. It's all bulkheaded. You can usually do some toying around in the mornings before it gets too rough. I have a 24' and still get tossed around pretty good on that lake.
