Default help, where can I get a heavy duty 5 under timing chain/timing chain set

Alright after getting my splayed mains done and everything else. I am told I will need a 5 under timing chain and was told the timing chain set will probably run about $400!!! I need a pretty heavy duty one since I will be spinning to 7000rpms and not sure if this matters but my springs have alot of open spring pressure. If it matters I will no longer need the waterpump gear since I am running an electric waterpump. Thanks for any help.

cloyes makes a .005 and .01 "under" chains... dual true rollers as well. It's not the spring pressure that wears the timing chain, it's the rpm and rate of acceleration to that rpm that stresses it.

Thanks man. You have helped me with just about every question I ask.

I just can't figure what he was talking about when he said $400. I know he had asked are you still using your optispark. Not sure if that makes a difference. Anyhow so these should be plenty strong enough for my high rpms? Also I was reading the specs on these and it says Maximum Advance/Retard at Camshaft is 2 degrees and Maximum Advance/Retard at Crankshaft is 4 degrees. I assume my builder will just set these up for no retard and no advance since mine is computer controlled.

when he degrees the cam he'll be able to advance/retard by the crank gear, offset bushing or adjustable cam gear if you get one of those fancy billet units. The 3145 is a good piece, and ALOT of people go with it when they go double roller. I ran one for almost 25k miles with lots of trips to 6800+ and it came out looking fine. I went with a billet comp unit this go around only because my builder had a new one laying around.

your builder is probably referring to the heavy duty single roller.
heres a link to it http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CLO-9-3151/

... with the double rollers I posted previously you will have to do some clearance grinding on the timing cover so it will clear the dbl roller chain..
