Default Still couldnt get 12s DAMNIT!

Last week I did a 13.1 and I thought with mt et streets and rear seat delete I could make 12s. Well Everyone said **** the seat delete so the only thing I did was get some used et streets. BUT...I didnt use the et streets untill the last 2 passes and they actualy made my time worse than the street tires. So I guess the better time this week I can give credit to the better da. Im wishing I would have takin the seats out. So next time with better da and seats removed I would think I have 12s

last weeks best was...

da...2265
60'...2.092
1/8...8.580
mph...85.32
1/4...13.197
mph...106.93

Today was...
da...2062
60'...2.018
1/8...8.451
mph...85.75
1/4...13.087
mph...106.87

This track sucks at night. I just spin like crazy. My first pass is always the best and I think its cause the track is fresh and the sun is heating the pavement.

Oh and this time I didnt do a burnout in the waterbox with my street tires. I think they are better off dry

What pressure did you go with? 18 I would try heating them a bit more and see what happens. Good luck.

Did your 60 change when you put the slicks on?

How can street tires be better than a drag radial unless u bought used ones that were dryed up.Get a new set of Nitto 555R drag radials so u can use them on the street and track.I have cut 1.6's on Nitto's.

They were at 18psi. I didnt have an air tank to mess with the pressures. My 60'got worse with the ets. My first passes when the sun was still out last night and last week were the best and I didnt feel like I was spinning at all with the street tires. Like I said before I think its cause the track is fresh and the sun makes the track stick better. But I tell you what,at night when its cooler and the track sucks...the et streets stick where the street tires would just nonstop spin. But...my times suffer with the ets.

Thats what I used to say untill last night. It was scary with those ets on there last night. The assend felt like it was swaying in the wind back and forth.
When the street tires hook they give better times than the ets...well last night with these old ets anyway. Im gonna get some new ets and shitcan these old ones.

I pulled 1.9s consistently w/ BFG KDW2s when I was stalled auto... Then I slapped in MT ET streets, pulled the best of 1.69 with no suspension mods.

Yep I agree. See I have 17x9 wheels all the way around and I picked these used ets up from someone on a 16x8. So I was running 275 40 17 in the front and the 26x11.5x16 ets in the back. I wanted these so I could just change them out at the track. So ill probly just do the same thing except put new et streets on the 16x8s. They will last a long time also cause they will not be for the street. I think because they were old AND because I could have had more pressure in them. What do you think?

It could be old tires but I doubt it. It might be the fact they are radials but who knows. I wouldn't give up on them yet. Take them to the track one more time and see what happens then go from there.

i said the et streets probably wouldn't help. I wouldn't get new et streets to solve the problem, try a drag radial like the 555r's or the new nitto nt05(i think thats what its called). Plus you could use those on the street also. But believe me NO MATTER the tires you put on it your time wont improve much maybe just enough to get you in the 12's with the stock stall. I've tried with numerous tires, pressures, launch points, even different tracks the stock stall sucks! I think im going with a pt4000 soon and go striaght to 11's.

Hey after I looked at my times and sawmy mph drop I thought about the guy who said it would. As a matter of fact iv been looking for the thread you told me so I could see who it was. But yea you were right. And yep iv already been thinking about going dr instead of et street biasply.
I did 13.087 with the street tires. I just took out back seats today, and im gonna make sure to have like an 1/8 tank of gas instead of more than half this time. You dont think illl get 12s? Ill bet you that weight will make the difference

lmao all it takes is practice and a little luck. I remember my first pass in the 12's was 12.999 lol. Your looking to nearly drop a tenth at 13.08 but without the backseats in and less gas you should be able too. Maybe try and take the filter out for a pass idk anything could give you 12's. Good Luck.
