Default Largest aftermarket heads that still keep the LT1 intake?

Anyone know what the largest set of heads are that still take the LT1 intake?

I know AFR 180 heads still take the factory LT1 intake (because thats what I currently have). But what else is available that is bigger?

SBC heads on an LT1 block isn't a direct swap, some massaging needs to be done to the coolant passages. I forgot what sponsor does the machine work, but they're around.

If you have AFR 180's now just have those ported and you will make alot more HP. I am using stock Lt1 heads ported by LE and run 10's all motor.

My heads are already fully ported, but thats besides the point.

Still looking for anyone who can tell me the largest heads available that still retain the factory LT1 intake.

If you're asking for monster heads, then you probably shouldn't be asking about anything that has to do with an LT1 intake manifold. At that point, it's probably time to step up to a single plane. And what is your definition of "biggest"? That's a very useless term by itself.

And in case you missed it the first time, ANY SBC head can be made to work with the LT1 intake manifold. Holy crap. But if you want a direct bolt-on, you need something LT1-specific (AFRs, etc.).

The question is simple, I am sorry if I am confusing people. I know largest heads will come for the LT4 style intake, but thats not what I am asking. I also know that if you modify the LT1 intake, you also can use any SBC heads (also not what I am asking).

I am asking what are the largest set of heads that you can have that (as you said) directly bolt on without any modification, like my AFR 180 heads.

I think AFR 210/220's. The 215rr and 227 would need a intake. Pretty sure the TFS heads will bolt up also.

If you're looking for the largest runner size, the AFR 227s will fit the bill (with the LT4 manifold).

Talked with TFS, the largest they offer that still retain the LT1 intake are the 195 heads. On hold with AFR now...

Looking for the "largest head that will fit" is the wrong way to do it.

you can also have the SBC heads drilled for the lt1 bolt pattern...therefore using a stock LT1 intake.

What a lot of people are telling you is true. if you get monster 220+ heads that flow awesome you will not make much more power because the ltx manifold can only flow so much. From what I've heard speaking with Tony mamo you are better off buying a miniram and gutting it out to keep up with larger heads.

I contemplated some 13 or 15 degree heads but didnt want the hassle of new headers, and the cost of a sheet metal intake. If I did that I would rather be using an LS base to begin with so I scrapped all ideas and kept it an LTX throughout. I was advised Im leaving over 100 hp on the table but perhaps next build there will be an aftermarket block option available.

he is already making 614whp on a d1 383 setup? If I had to guess, he is lookin for the "biggest" head because he is goin to upgrade to the f1 and crank the boost up... na rules don't apply here, that charger will force the intake to flow more cfm lol.
