Think of headers as wheels. there are many many options but some are made better than the others... some look better... some might function better.

I went with the kooks for a couple of reasons. One was feed back, performance, installation and fit and the other was looking at some side by side photos of the other brands.

Any brand has to be better than stock.

I went with Pacesetters. They picked me up a considerable amount of power and only cost me 450 with the O/R mids if I remember correctly.

I had ceramic coated SLP LT's and they were excellent in every way! I have seen Kooks and they are even better looking than my SLP's were.

Is there any power being left on the table by going with some pacesetters for example?

There has to be as a lot of time goes into Kooks headers to make the most possible horsepower. The Kooks GTO headers fit very well and are pretty easy to install. Bob

I picked my kooks up second hand for $800 jet hot coated with catted mids. I was going to go with pace setters or SLP but I'm glad I got hooked up.

After you tighten the clamps you pinch the pipes making it very difficult to restall. I had a lot of fitment issues with mine, as well as the cats failing within 8 months and the coatings peeled back and the headers rusted. SLP wont cover their product despite what their website says about covering rust since "they arent rusted all the way through". I will never buy another SLP product again, but thats just me. Some people have had really good luck with them, I havent. im my opinion go with Kooks and get them coated.

ARH has a great reputation and might be a bit more affordable that kooks.

Damn that sucks. I guess SLPs arent stainless steel then? I thought they were.

Just looked it up. SLPs use 409 Stainless where as Kooks use a better grade 304 Stainless. Im glad I spent the extra couple of hundred and got Kooks to begin with.

Dam those SLPs are mad rusted, a few friends have had pace setters for years and they dont look ANYTHING like that, and they just have the base coat.
