Is it possible for a Wild 350 to make more hp/tq than a Mild 383?

reading comprehension must not be stressed in new orleans... believe it or not its possible to make low end torque without a hotcam!!
fwiw... a well done 383 can make more power everywhere than a well done 355. if you're doing things "right" on your "wild" 355, the cost difference is very very small.

No. Torque is Horsespower... But it all matters how efficiently that equation is put to the wheels...

a well done 383 v. a well done stock short block will end in the 383's favor all day in the tq department. 383's are known for making gobs of torque unless you spin them. FWIW spend the money on a long rod (6") 383 and make so much tq it'll want to twist the chassis....again it needs to built right to do it, otherwise you just have a big paperweight.

Define wild 350. NA it is possible to make more than a 383, but the 383 has to be really mild, maybe running a hotcam or a CC305. But usually a 383 is better everywhere. In super chevy they just did an article on a 355 vs 383 with the same parts. They had the same compression, cams/heads/intakes/exhausts. the 383 made more power everywhere. You could also spray the hell out of a 355, that will make more power

They will but if the heads are only going to be some big it may be better to stay 350/355.
A well built dialed in car will quick regardless of the cubes. The stall, cam, gear, susp, etc will all play a role. Dont worry about building a big or small motor, address all areas of the car.
