Default fuel pressure

what should fuel pressure be on a 97 z28 mine is 42 at idle but drops to 35 when I rev it up Car has lost power I have replaced the opti and intake gasket

~43.5psi key on, engine off, then it should drop 3 to 10psi with the engine running and slowly increase with throttle position.

It has 43 idling and will drop to 37 reving it.Its backfiring at low rpm and has no power

37 is low. It should go up when revving, not down

Unplug the fuel pressure regulator and see what it dose

Likely the same thing. Sounds like the pressure regulator crapped out.

it doesnt change much when unpluged 1-3 psi

its possible the pump itself just cant keep up anymore.
