Default stock LT1 1/4 times..?

My buddy has a stock 1993 z28 auto with I beleive 3.23 gears. I raced him today and it was side by side, I have video I'll post up later.

I was wanting to get my truck to the track but I would like to know what these cars run stock just to give me an idea of what the truck will do.

all depends on location..if your -800 for sea level with it being 50 out and no humidity then your going to run a killer time

I had a bone stock 93 and it ran from 13.90 @ 98mph backed up with a 13.91 same day to 14.21 @ 96mph depending on weather conditions. I had a bone stock 97 camaro and ran 14.09 @ 98mph and have a 97 TA (GF car) now that ran a best of 14.06 @ 97mph when it was stock. All auto's and full trim with spare tires and everything. The two tracks were I ran the cars are less then 600' above sea level and the best runs the DA was about 500'.
Hope that helps.
Now take it to the track and get some real numbers.

Ive personally seen at the track(not some internet bench racing that everyone does) anything from 13.9 to 14.6 with stock LT1's.

Stock ls1 in the 1988 dodge ram in my sig. Motor has ebay headers, and homemade CAI. The shift points are messed up and the spark plugs are original with the 98 LS1. It needs tuned bad, but runs well for what it is. Weight was 4,400 with the pass. and the truck has 3.90 gears with stock stall in the 4l60e. 31 in mud tires.

My '96 Z m6 stock tires 14.6 3000'DA
Old '95 formula m6 stock tires 14.7 no mods to either car and both were run in the summer heat.

I have personally seen Lt1s run 13.5-13.9 at HRP,1993-1995 when they were new.Gotta love sea-level

I get that alot, but, I only have $1700 in this swap, sold the 440 and all 440 stuff for $2,400.

LS1's are very common, plus they have aluminum blocks, vs. the 5.7 hemis cast block. The LS stuff Is much more popular and seems to be the smart choice for anyone on a budget.

Look around and let me know if you find a modern hemi with computer, harness, transmission, and a passenger drop transfer case........good luck

A big factor in what a stock car will run is the driver. if you have a good driver with a m6 car your going to get the best result.

This would have been a perfect example to use in the "dinosaur" thread. If anything this is a perfect slap in the face to those who believe the LT1 is on par with the LS1.
