Default First time down the track

I have a 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6 with a Flowmaster catback and Volant intake. I have never been down a track in a car, let alone in a manual. On my 4th run of the night I finally launched the car properly with stock tires and ran an 8.98 @ 74mph with a 2.15 60ft in the 1/8th.

Now.....this pass only consisted of 1st and 2nd gear and coasting for 50ft after hitting limiter. I bought the car with no 3rd gear for a good price, and was talked into running it anyways by a friend (slo98bird)

i was there to see this. i was quiet impressed with the car and driving, especially with no 3rd gear and coasting. now everyone should give him a hard time about not having his tranny fixed yet...

hey now! I will fix it when it gets too cold for the baby to come out and play. No use and having it sit out for a couple months when it is nice out LOL!

I'd have to dig up a timeslip, but I went 14.60 in the quarter. That's usually faster than a 9 sec eighth.

a 14.6 from what iv seen is arould a 9.5. from the fact that he ran the time he did coasting a good portion of the track. id say it had an 8.6-8.8 with third gear. good running v6 btw

I'm not sayin it's horribly bad. There are people on here running that kinda time with all sorts of parts (cam/headers/blah blah blah). Why not shift it to 4th then instead of coasting? Any power would be better than none!

not bad for no 3rd gear.
My Formula went 8.8x at 83 mph bone stock 1/8-mile and ran 13.49 at 103 mph in the quarter. Unless you're getting a killer first half that evaporates after the 1/8-mile, 14.60 1/4-mile won't be in the 8s in the 1/8-mile.

i couldn't tell you how good or bad that is, but it appears to be decent. i've seen a lot of stock cars run in that area with all gears haha. my BONE stock 00 z28 a4 went 8.8s @ 81. slowest stock fbody in history, i swear. went 14.1s @ 100-101 like a clock. thankfully adding headers and a stall fixed it, for the most part.

my 99 ws6 m6 went 8.29 @ 88 (87.9) with a lid and flowmaster weld in. car also has sportlines and a pro5.0 with shortstick and slp ****, but they didn't really make it any faster. had a 1.96 60' on radials w/ 22 psi in them. 2200' da.
